Slice Out Hunger – Pizza on the Pier 2024

Each year, hundreds of pizza lovers gather on the waterfront at Fornino, located on Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, to take part in one of New York City’s most anticipated food events—Pizza on the Pier. Hosted by the nonprofit organization Slice Out Hunger, this event brings together the city’s top pizzerias, a stunning outdoor setting, and a powerful mission: to fight food insecurity, one slice at a time.

The format of the event is simple—and delicious. Attendees receive a 90-minute session where they can eat as many slices as they can handle. With unlimited sampling and take-home containers provided, guests can enjoy their fill on-site and also bring a few slices home. Beyond the food, the event includes music, games, and opportunities to connect with the chefs, volunteers, and fellow pizza aficionados who make up this tight-knit (and tasty) community.

But beyond the fun and food, Pizza on the Pier is about impact. Every dollar raised goes directly to Slice Out Hunger’s Pie It Forward program, which purchases pizza from local independent pizzerias and distributes it to New Yorkers experiencing food insecurity. It’s a win-win model that supports small businesses and ensures that vulnerable communities have access to hot, nourishing meals. Thanks to generous sponsors and a dedicated team of volunteers, 100% of ticket sales are channeled straight into hunger relief efforts.

Whether you’re a pizza purist, a deep-dish devotee, or just someone who loves good food for a great cause, Pizza on the Pier is an event that brings people together in all the best ways. It’s a celebration of New York’s pizza culture, the generosity of its people, and the power of food to build community and create change.
